The IJP, with the support of the Marilyn S. Broad Foundation, has launched a new project—the Emergency Response Network—which addresses the direct and immediate needs of women and children who are suffering from physical and mental health problems resulting from the genocide and other mass atrocities in Darfur. Since its inception, the IJP has worked to obtain justice for the victims of the Darfur crisis at the International Criminal Court (ICC). Through this work, the IJP encountered many members of the Darfuri Diaspora in the U.S., especially women and children, who were in urgent need of medical care and who were at risk of becoming disenfranchised without relevant aid.
