Afi C. Patterson received her Juris Doctorate from Southern University Law Center. She is a member of the Louisiana Bar and is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern, Middle, and Western District of Louisiana.
Prior to joining the International Justice Project, Ms. Patterson worked as an associate at Adams & Reese LLP, in the Labor and Employment division. She has significant experience researching and analyzing governmental regulatory policy and employment laws. Her legal teaching experience includes training students in courtroom procedure and evidence for trial competitions and teaching Legal Writing Lab to freshman law students.
Ms. Patterson studies Nigeria’s mixed legal system, pre- and post-colonization. She expects to receive her LL.M. in Trial Advocacy from the Beasley School of Law, Temple University in May 2011.
