Charles W. Elliott has been engaged in the private practice of law since 1978, concentrating in public interest litigation. He is the recipient of numerous awards for his practice in environmental public interest litigation, including recognition from the U.S. Department of Justice for his outstanding skill and dedication in citizen suit litigation under the Clean Water Act.
Mr. Elliott has been adapting his expert litigation skills towards the work of the IJP at the International Criminal Court since 2008. In the same year he earned a specialized diploma in Human Rights and Humanitarian Law from the Washington College of Law, American University, Academy on Human Rights and the Netherlands Institute of Human Rights, Utrecht University. A lifelong activist, Mr. Elliott also holds various leadership positions in environmental, civic and non-profit organizations.
