2012- 2013 Internships

The International Justice Project seeks graduate and law students for professional internships. We offer several different internships so please indicate which one you are interested in your application.

Darfur Community Health and Reparations Project “HARP” Internship

The intern will conduct research on the mental, medical, and welfare issues faced by refugee and victim populations, such as the Darfuri Diaspora; reach out to individual clients and victims and assist in addressing their mental and medical health care needs; raise awareness of the plight of the Darfuri Community in the U.S.; reach out to and develop relationships with medical and mental health professionals, lawyers, interpreters and other individuals as well as with other human rights and refugee rights organizations. The ideal candidate will have field experience in working with victims of crime or refugees, or a demonstrated interest to do such work.

The Legal and Policy Internship

The intern will research international criminal law, human rights law, and international humanitarian law to assist with the legal representation of clients at the International Criminal Court. Intern duties will also include compiling personal data, completing individual Standard Application Forms of Darfuri victims for participatory rights in the ICC Proceedings, and monitoring and analyzing current legal and political developments pertaining to our cases. Additionally, s/he will be involved with tasks associated with fundraising, marketing, and outreach through social media. The ideal candidate is a law student or a graduate student with a focus on international law, international relations, or a related field.

Social Media/Web Development Intern

We are continuously looking for interns to assist with the growth and development of our social media engagement and our website. We are looking for creative designers to help us present our work in interesting new ways and expand the reach of our web presence. As an intern, you will work with experienced international criminal law attorneys and international diplomacy professionals on a range of fascinating issues and campaigns. For this internships, working remotely may be possible. Duties may include the following: Working with senior and other staff to develop priorities for social media strategy and website design; leading a social media volunteer team; growing and maintaining organization media list; coordinating the organization’s social media activities on Facebook, Twitter, and other mediums; and helping integrate social media into international criminal justice campaigns.
