Esther Moedden, Associate Program Officer
Esther has been working with the IJP since October 2012. She assists Darfurian individuals in completing and filing applications to actively participate in the proceedings at the ICC and to make claims for reparations. Moreover, Esther actively contributes to the IJP’s other transitional justice programs, especially the Emergency Response Network. She was based in the U.S. office for one year and is presently continuing her work from Germany, as many of our beneficiaries and clients reside abroad.
Esther studied law in Germany and France at the University of Paris XII, Créteil. She received her law degree from the University of Osnabrueck in 2012. During her legal training at the Higher Regional Court of Hamburg she worked among others for the Committee on Human Rights and Humanitarian Aid in the German Congress, a law firm practicing foreigners law and she will be based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from October to work for the German Embassy.
In addition she has successfully completed summer courses from the International Committee of the Red Cross in international humanitarian law.
